Some organizations try to sell you on the benefits of membership, and hide the responsibilities in fine print. Not us!! If you join the S.P.R.M., it’s because you want the responsibilities.

Responsibilities of Membership

Membership in the Society for the Promotion of Real Magic is a sacred responsibility. All members are required to take the following oath:

I vow to promote Real Magic, in the Real World, at every opportunity. 
I know that Real Magic is whatever I want it to be.
I vow to find Real Magic through play and through prayer. 
I vow to destroy elements of the Real World that stand in the way of the Real Magic I love and need.

How you promote Real Magic is up to you. Maybe you’ll invite dryads to move in to your local cedar grove. Maybe you’ll fundraise for a druid circle. Maybe you’ll learn to talk to horses. Maybe you’ll go through so many magic portals your friends, family, and firstborn child no longer recognize you. Maybe you’ll build tiny houses for magic toads, and in each tiny house you’ll place a tiny magic portal that leads to a toad town in an otherworld where humans are small and toads are big. THE SKY IS LITERALLY THE LIMIT.

Benefits of Membership

You’ll have a membership card that you can show off to your friends and rivals. Use this card when you carry out your member responsibilities – you know how an F.B.I. agent shows their badge when they want to question you? Just like that.

There might be other, more ephemeral benefits to membership. I’m sure I don’t know.

The details

All interested parties on planet Earth are eligible for membership in the S.P.R.M.

Your membership never expires, unless you want it to, in which case you can notify us and we will remove you from our membership rolls.  

Membership is currently free, because we give away magic for free, and money for freedom. Cost for new memberships may increase or decrease at unpredictable times, by unpredictable amounts.
