Of all the games society imposes on us, the gender binary is one of the most oppressive and limiting. Its strict rules declare how we must talk, dress, express feelings, and even what we’re allowed to desire. The game of gender is like the pesky iPhone Auto-Correct feature, constantly assuming what we’re trying to communicate (and getting it WRONG!), having never asked us if we want the function to be enabled in the first place.
Trying to win at gender feels like running on a boring and exhausting hamster wheel. On the other hand, intentionally failing at gender can open up infinite possibilities for self-expression and relationships.
In this online event, Indigo Esmonde will lead games that invite players to joyfully, gloriously FAIL at gender. Everyone who joins is guaranteed to receive an F+ for participation. Join us to play with liberating ourselves from GENDER! Bring a PEN & PAPER to map your escape route.
